What is the general manufacturing process of automobile spring?
There are many different manufacturing processes for springs, but the main molding sizes: There are two main types of processes: cold molding and hot molding.
In the spring cold forming process, the spring is mainly made of oil quenching and tempering materials, lead bath toughening heat treatment spring wire, cold drawing reinforcement wire and so on. The process of making a spring using this material usually requires no special heat treatment, only stress relief annealing, and the spring's design working stress is dependent on the characteristics of the material used. Spring cold forming process is usually suitable for small wire diameter or shape complex special-shaped spring, such as wire diameter less than 15 mm, various types of cards, tension, torsion spring, convex, concave, bending spring and so on. Cold forming process is characterized by simple process flow, avoid deformation and reheat decarbonization.
In the spring hot forming process, the spring is mainly made of hot rolled material, annealed material, annealed cold drawn material and so on. Using these materials to make springs requires heating quenching and tempering heat treatments, as well as the selection of design stresses for the springs. Materials and heat treatment processes are related. The spring hot forming process is usually suitable for springs with large wire diameters or simple shapes, such as various cylindrical or conical springs with wire diameters greater than 6 mm. The hot forming process is characterized by high value added and the ability to produce springs with large wire diameters.
